Začal vyhledávat a objevovat autory, jejichž život a tvorba úzce souvisí s českým a moravským regionem, avšak kteří zůstali dnešní veřejnosti - a to i odborné - zcela utajeni.
The ensemble generally consists of four to six singers accompanied by two bass continuo instruments (e.g., theorba, archlute, positive organ, harpsichord, Baroque cello). The range of instruments is wider or narrower depending on the specific project. The members of the ensemble are now regarded as among the foremost performers of early music in Czech Republic. They perform at well-known music festivals and, because of the unique character of their projects, are often in demand by television and radio studios. The set initially relied on the works of Renaissance and early Baroque composers, such as Gesualdo, Hassler, Monteverdi, and Schütz. More recently, however, the ensemble has sought composers whose lives and works are closely connected with the Czech and Moravian region but are unknown to most audiences, including connoisseurs. The ensemble has thus discovered a number of delightful works that are of the same or even higher standards as those of their contemporaries who gained international renown. These works are now the hallmark of the ensemble and have been highly appreciated in specialist circles; they now form the basis of the ensemble’s extensive repertoire. The ensemble has given countless modern world premiere performances of such works and intends to continue doing so with all of the unique works now available to it. In the process of seeking more obscure composers, the ensemble’s name has acquired a new significance: Societas Incognitorum now represents a kind of society of outstanding composers who unfairly fell into oblivion due to some mysterious quirk of fate.
