Dusík left behind numerous works, mainly compositions for solo piano, piano concertos and chamber works with piano. Their standard varies considerably. Side by side with compositions complying to the period convention, which can even strike as literally salon-like, there are highly unconventional works, considering the time of their origin. The most interesting components of Dusík's style are harmony and rhythm. In his avantguard works, Dusík uses chromatic progressions and modulations hardly explicable in his time, which even nowadays, after the disintegration of the tonal order, impress as original. Characteristic of the rhythmic articulation is the frequent use of the various kinds of syncopes. It goes as far as a loss at some moments of the awareness of the accented beat, which the composer uses for grading the dramatic expression.
