Stereo, digital, studio recording 2002, 2003.
During the 2003/2004 season the Prague Philharmonia, founded and directed by Jiri Belohlavek, a conductor of high international standing, is marking the first decade of its successful artistic activity. In the course of its ten years of existence, the Prague Philharmonia has evolved into one of the orchestras most sought after by programme managers of the foremost domestic and international concert platforms. Technical brilliance, clear and sparkling sound, and most notably, the keen involvement of its young instrumentalists are the hallmark qualities contributing to the triumphant trajectory of this youthful philharmonic orchestra. Countless recordings and sold-out auditoriums are proof of this. Here then is a new title from the workshop of the Prague Philharmonia, offering fresh evidence of its musicians´ exceptional flair, being issued to mark the orchestra's anniversary. The selections - Mozart's "Prague" Symphony and Vorisek´s Symphony in D major - furnished the players and conductor alike with a golden opportunity literally to shine in their presentation of these compositional jewels. Their account is breathtaking indeed. Jewels of compositional art inequally brilliant readings by the Prague Philharmonia.
